INTRODUCTION

Hello my name is Quintin Dale and I established Council Tax Band Appeals UK to specialise in all matters relating to the valuation of dwellings for Council Tax purposes.

If you have always thought your Council Tax Band was too high I would welcome the opportunity of preparing a case for you.

I have been involved with the valuing of property for Council Tax purposes since the introduction of the tax in April 1993. (Prior to this I obtained an honours degree in Urban Estate Surveying in 1985 and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1987)

I am wholly familiar with the primary and secondary legislation upon which the valuation of dwellings for Council Tax is based, having been involved in many Tribunal and even several High Court cases.

I am particularly conversant with The Council Tax (Situation and Valuation of Dwellings) Regulations 1992  which underpins the basis of valuation - having provided advice on it for over  25 years ago.

Importantly I only concentrate on those cases where I genuinely believe a case can be made to support a band reduction. This involves either making informal representations to the Valuation Office Agency (an executive Agency of HMRC) or a formal proposal which if necessary can subsequently be appealed to an independent Valuation Tribunal.
